Project Overview

Brikkho Foundation is a grassroot environmental NGO dedicated to protecting nature and strengthening communities through tree plantation, cleanliness drives, and social welfare programs. Based in the culturally rich region of Santiniketan, West Bengal, we work with communities across India to create a greener, cleaner and more compassionate future for everyone. Rabindranath Tagore built Santiniketan on the principle of living in harmony with nature. He believed education should happen under trees, that humans and nature are inseparable, and that true progress means environmental and social balance. This philosophy runs through everything we do at Brikkho Foundation. We are more than a NGO, we carry forward a legacy of environmental stewardship and community care that Tagore planted over a century ago. What started as a few volunteers planting trees in Santiniketan has grown into a people-driven movement. Today, citizens, students, volunteers, corporate partners, and supporters from across India and around the world join us. Together, we plant forests, clean neighborhoods, feed communities, and protect wildlife. We've learned that real change doesn't come from governments or big institutions alone. Real change happens when ordinary people decide to act.
